Development
The following features are in active development and are scheduled to be released shortly. Note that we extensively test all enhancements before releasing them to the public. If you are interested in joining our volunteer beta testing team, please e-mail us at proxy@threatens.org.
- Integrated Google search feature
- Better binary file proxying, including Flash
- Video streaming support, including YouTube
- Extended ajax-to-TOProxy JS API support (Facebook, etc.)
- Forums and login system for easier customer support
- Simpler privacy and security controls - checkboxes for advanced users only
- File upload and FTP proxying
- Ad placement analysis system - we won’t be injecting ads unless we’re absolutely positive they won’t be distracting or intrusive, so it’s important that we have a method for testing whether or not there is adequate room on a page. One technique is implimented in Google searches already, so we’d love to hear what you think—or if you can even find them.
Planned
Planned features are not yet in active development, but are next on the todo list.
- Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox users
- Portable version of Firefox customized for use with Threatens.org; runs from flash drive
Concepts
We think these ideas are pretty cool, but they aren’t important enough to be granted dedicated development time.
- Gadgets/widgets that appear on each page at the user”s request (clocks, calendars, notes, e-mail, etc.)
- Wiki for open documentation, tips, tricks, etc.
- Wider range of supported protocols (SVN, etc.)
